Developers came from far-and-wide for the first edition of the GlobalHack competition — but, as it turns out, the winning team didn’t have to travel much at all.
A team of Washington University students won the $50,000 prize for solving a problem posed by the title sponsor. The cash is in exchange for their code and intellectual property.

A team called “The Force” took the top prize at GlobalHack’s first hackathon, held this weekend at Union Station.
The team that took the $50,000 first-place prize was comprised of current and former Washington University students, according to LockerDome’s website. GlobalHack, a quarterly hackathon competition, was created by LockerDome CEO Gabe Lozano.
