GlobalHack names first hackathon winner

A team called “The Force” took the top prize at GlobalHack’s first hackathon, held this weekend at Union Station.

The team that took the $50,000 first-place prize was comprised of current and former Washington University students, according to LockerDome’s website. GlobalHack, a quarterly hackathon competition, was created by LockerDome CEO Gabe Lozano.

Eberlin’s startup to sponsor first GlobalHack

Jim Eberlin, the St. Louis-based serial entrepreneur, will use GlobalHack to help launch his new venture, Topopps. TopOPPS is Eberlin’s new startup that looks to use big data to analyze companies’ customer relationship management portals and forecast the likelihood of future sales.

GlobalHack Competition Grabs Sponsor for First Hack-a-Thon

Gabe Lozano says you can call it the “Super Bowl of Geeks.”

And just like the big game, GlobalHack, the million-dollar series of hack-a-thons calling St. Louis home, is starting to attract sponsorship interest. TopOPPS, a company which analyzes ‘big data’ to advise sales teams, is fronting the $50,000 prize for the first iteration of the competition.
